The Purchaser is responsible for the procurement of materials and services, for operations specific and business requirements, ensuring these are carried out in an economically advantageous, timely, cost effective and ethical manner. All activities to be performed in accordance with Bluewater's Values, Code of Conduct and Procurement Procedures & Manual.

About the job
  • Purchase in a sound and ethical manner in accordance with requirements and company’s CMS.
  • Prepare and issue enquiries to suppliers and verify that purchase requisitions are complete.
  • Review and analyse supplier quotations in conjunction with internal asset-team stakeholders.
  • Organize and chair pre-and post-award clarification meetings with suppliers.
  • Prepare bid evaluation, negotiate pricing, lead times and recommends best commercial options.
  • Perform desk expediting activities as required.
  • Prepare and issues a weekly status report showing the status of all purchase transactions.
  • Coordinate visits of Suppliers to (site) locations for installation, commissioning, repair, support and warranty activities.
  • Review and verify invoices in a timely and accurate manner in conjunction with the assigned invoice administrator.
  • Administrate Purchase Orders and related correspondence correctly.
  • Identifies commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Manages conflicts and default situations with Suppliers in close conjunction with asset stakeholders and Section Head Procurement as appropriate
  • Interfaces and aligns with other sections and departments with reference to scope definition, regulatory compliance, certification, transport & logistics.
  • Ensure final close out of orders including the performance evaluation of suppliers.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable commercial and purchasing experience in a similar position within oil and gas operations.
  • Sound knowledge of procurement processes, INCOTERMS and HMRC Import & Export Customs Regulations
  • Basic knowledge of experience with English Law, negotioation of PO terms and conditions, common EU and UK Equipment Directives, International Standards (ISO) and their related certifications.
  • Good business-based communication skills.
  • Maximo experience desirable.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office packages.
