The HSEQ & RC department is responsible for ensuring that all business processes are recorded, understood, followed and improved. Furthermore the HSEQ & RC department identifies and interprets Flag State and Class requirements and ensures that risks to the company are identified and managed, all in order to contribute to the realization of the company's goals and strategy.

About the job

The Regulatory Compliance Engineer is responsible for conducting regulatory compliance activities including interfacing between Bluewater departments, classification societies and other (inter)national regulatory bodies such as Flag States. You will identify and define regulatory compliance issues during support to projects or operations and advise on possible solutions.
You will also implement and manage the regulatory compliance process ensuring proper submission of engineering plans and documents required by regulatory agencies and managing the review process until final approval of engineering documents by the regulatory agencies.

Besides ensuring that the applicable certification is issued by the respective authorities, you will also monitor the status of regulatory compliance activities of operations or projects and/or other departments. Furthermore you may take part in internal audits and surveys and act as liaison during audits and surveys by external parties (e.g. ISM/ISPS audits, class and statutory surveys).

Requirements

• You will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent
• A preference for 3 years of experience in a relevant environment
• Proven knowledge of Flag State rules, international maritime and offshore conventions (e.g. SOLAS, MARPOL) and classification rules
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal
• Able and willing to travel abroad, including to offshore installations and participate in projects.
